Other Dining Room Thoughts

A fun mix of vintage pieces in Coastal Living. Such a serene yet playful palette! Love the look of mismatched dining room chairs but don't enjoy it as much in practice. Table height and chair height and the proportion of each is serious business. Do like wooden side chairs and upholstered seats for the heads of the table though..

In love with this dining room from Rhoda at Southern Hospitality Blog. Wowed by her clever combination of Pottery and Ironstone in the same assemblage. I collect them both in white but have typically displayed them apart. Apparently she was inspired by the house in the movie Something's Gotta Give. I should watch that again and check out that dining room. That house makes me GREEN with envy!Cheers,

    I have much love for mismatched chairs. I wish I had the moxy to pull it off at our house, but I know you and the power of Matte White can do it! I must say I've heard many people cite the set design for Something's Gotta Give as an inspiration -- sounds like the surroundings were better than the movie!!
