Handmade Lighting

It may be wrong but I always relish the idea of fall by the time it comes peeking around the corner. By then I've had so much of summer, it is fun to turn my thoughts from the brilliant outdoors to the cozy confines of my home. This got me to thinking a bit about indoor lighting. When possible, I love to support the clever crafting community, so here are a few enlightening handmade lights that are beautiful as well easy on the earth.

Hannah Nunn
offers these delightful handcut parchment lanterns. Such a gorgeous string of faerie lights and their delicate designs feel a little outdoorsy even when you're all locked indoors.

Redesign technologies creates these beautiful and intricate paper clip lights. Talk about clip art! I'm always trying to figure out what shot of modern would work in an older room and these seem like they'd work beautifully in any simple white room.
Finally, if you're feeling crafty, Ohdeedoh has a great idea for recycled egg carton lights. Pretty easy to imagine these with some white paint (I know, I need help - it's a sickness!) They'd be great in a springtime display or for fun white Christmas ornaments.
Enjoy,

Amanda

  1. What an inspired post -- the soft, festive glow certainly makes me think of the holidays. I love the recycled nature of these pieces, with the egg cartons and paperclips. Those remind me of glittering nets or a wire chandelier.
