My Ceramic and Pottery Fetish

One reason I especially admire monochromatic decor is because I am crazy for white pottery and ceramics. Local antique shops, junk shops, and EBay are great sources. Unless you are looking for an extremely popular piece or designer, they are often the same price or cheaper than a similar item costs new. I tend to buy vases because I tell myself that if an object is useful it doesn't count as a collectible! They are the most beautiful when they are deeply textured with geometric designs, allowing the light to play along the surface. Here are a few select favorites from my "assemblage."

This is an Eames era Thomas "Honeycomb" vase by Thomas Germany (related to Rosenthall).

Next, a pretty pair of ceramic pots that I found at the thrift store (SCORE!). They were probably made around 1940.
Happy hunting!

  1. Wow, these are fantastic finds. Beautiful shapes and silhouettes. Put together, they're an interesting mix of classic and modern, and the similar finish makes it a very unified collection.
